Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Knotwise app and website operated by Cortexlumora Private Limited. By using Knotwise you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Knotwise for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Identifications are not guaranteed

Knotwise uses AI to estimate the species or wood type from a photo. Results may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on Knotwise to determine whether a plant, mushroom, berry, or wood is safe to touch, eat, burn, or otherwise use. Always confirm with a qualified expert before acting on an identification. Knotwise is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Subscriptions

• Knotwise offers auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g. weekly and annual) that unlock unlimited identifications and full reports.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. A free trial’s unused portion (if offered) is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights.
• Upload content you don’t have the right to upload.
• Reverse engineer, abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass limits of the Service.

Your content

You retain ownership of the photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to process and store them solely to provide the Service (e.g. run identification and show your scan history).

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cortexlumora Private Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions made in reliance on an identification.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
